A major vulnerability has been found in one of the protocols used to secure communications between wireless devices and access points.
This vulnerability in the WPA2 protocol makes it possible for a hacker to intercept communications between the device and the access point and in extreme cases inject and manipulate the data.
Whilst all devices are thought to be vulnerable in one way or another, Android 6.0 and above based devices seem to be the worst effected with an estimated 41% containing a vulnerability.
We are recommending that all customers be mindful of this potential security risk and limit the use of wireless devices wherever possible and to check regularly with manufactures and operating system providers for updates.
